Production of disease-free shrimp, production of probiotics from native shrimp, production of biosilage from fish waste, technical knowledge of edible oyster farming, optimization of gillnets for fishing Trichiurus lepturus, localization of cage fish farming on the north and south coasts and providing scientific and specialized services to cage fish farmers, identification of susceptible areas and unconventional waters for artemia production in the country, localization of non-native economic valuable species and their introduction to aquaculture industry, conducting research activities in breeding, Health and diseases, physiology of nutrition and reproduction, genetics, breeding and ecology of cold-water fishes with emphasis on Caspian salmon, unveiling of the first phase of production of disease-free trout, applied research to breed Rainbow trout, the revitalization of UNIDO Center and the connection of research and development in the form of joint cooperation with 21 Beiza Company, various researches in the field of sturgeon and printing books, magazines and atlas, were among the most important achievements that Dr. Bahmani mentioned.
The head of the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization, appreciating the efforts of fisheries scientists, said: "The mastermind of the Ministry of Agriculture-Jahad is the Research and Education Department. For this reason, researchers carry a heavy and important mission.”
Dr. Khayam Nekouei, pointing out that the most important asset of organizations is human resources, added: "Fortunately, in the body of the Agriculture Research, Education and Extension Organization (AREEO), there are specialized and experienced staffs. Therefore, this opportunity should be seized and the priorities should be adjusted in such a way that the abilities of these staffs are used in the best way.”
He said that the condition for achieving this important thing is to have a regular organizational structure and said: “The classification of institutions and research centers of the organization should be done in a way that creates a sense of competition among them. This, leads to progress and promotion. The indicators set for such a ranking should ultimately lead to solve the problems of the agricultural sector.”
The head of AREEO, pointed out at the reducing dependence on imported fish eggs, paying more attention to processing and complementary industries, developing fish farming in greenhouses, fish farming in cages and assigning products such as algae and oysters as priorities at the macro level of fisheries.
Dr. Khayam Nekouei, clarified: “It is necessary to activate a growth or innovation center in the field of fisheries so that research topics can be better adapted to the needs of farmers. In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture-Jahad also supports AREEO.”
This official called on researchers to apply the latest knowledge, new and non-governmental approach to research, find new and original ideas and tangible results of research on private farms.
The deputy minister of Ministry of Agriculture-Jahad, referring to the entanglement of food security and national security said: "We are not able to produce all the products we need in the country. So, although we have to be self-sufficient in some areas, such as wheat and corn production, we also need to import some products from other countries.”
Dr. Kazemeini continued: “This requires the ability to exchange products with foreign countries. In other words, if we are to import a product, its foreign exchange resources must be obtained from other thriving products that have been exported; not from revenues from the sale of oil and raw materials.”
He stressed out: “There’s the ability and capacity to evaluate many products such as medicinal plants, horticultural products and more importantly in the field of fisheries. Because the field of aquaculture is now a comparative advantage compared to the neighbors, and this opportunity should be used.”
The Deputy Minister of Ministry of Agriculture-Jahad said: "In this path, if the goal is clear, it will definitely end in success." The field of fisheries must also realize its potential and take an important step towards food security with the aim of sustainable use of water and coastal resources in the north and south of the country.”
