During the visit, after consulting with the experts of the department of aquatic animal health and diseases of the South of Iran Aquaculture Research Center - Ahvaz, he made suggestions for pond management and feeding management (including increasing aeration, changing water, spraying lime, and adding vitamin C to the aquaculture diet), as well as treating the black gill syndrome in shrimp and increasing their survival. It is worth mentioning that the shrimp farming industry in Khuzestan province has been suffering from various diseases for several years. In this regard, the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran has formed a working group on shrimp farming to provide farmers with scientific, aquaculture extension and advisory support in order to remove barriers to production and increase productivity. Also, during the visit to the seabass farm, he reviewed the feeding status and fish mortality and provided feeding management strategies including the proper feeding time, number of feedings and feeding rate to improve the growth status of fish. It is worth mentioning that with the outbreak of shrimp white spot disease in this region, for several years now, shrimp farmers have been looking to replace shrimp by Asian seabass as a suitable species for aquaculture in the region in order to prevent stagnation on farms. The research institute, considering the valuable experiences gained by the South of Iran Aquaculture Research Center in recent years in the field of breeding and rearing of marine fish, tries to promote and transfer the scientific findings of its researchers to this region.
