The Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute is one of the oldest institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad. He added: The main goal of the institute is to produce technical knowledge, which along with the activities of the executive departments in order to ensure food security and job creation through the production of technological knowledge and fisheries extension activities, is an effective set in the field of fisheries and aquaculture. Dr. Bahmani mentioned some of the achievements of the institute over the past year and stated: Acquisition of technical knowledge for breeding and rearing of various aquatic species in the north and south of the country, supply of juvenile fish required for cage fish farming, production of Salmo trutta caspius juveniles, production of zander juveniles, breeding and rearing of seabream and sobaity as well as valuable species at the Bandar Imam Khomeini Marine Fish Research Station are among the most important projects of the fisheries researchers. The official of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute added: Signing a memorandum of understanding with the largest cage fish farming company in order to promote activities related to this field, production of the White Spot Syndrome Virus (WSSV) detection kit for shrimp and efforts to produce aquatic animal vaccines in cooperation with the Iran Fisheries Organization, the Iran Veterinary Organization and the Razi Vaccine and Serum Research Institute are other activities that can be mentioned. The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute stated: Moreover, development of disease - free shrimp broodstock for shrimp farmers is one of the most effective fisheries projects, which is an important step in the development of the fisheries industry. According to him, the biosilage production project was unveiled today. The biosilage is a substitute for fish meal and is an important food for fish. At the ceremony to unveil this achievement, a memorandum of understanding was also signed with the active private sector. Dr. Bahmani referred to the production assistants plan and said: In the framework of the new system of fisheries extension, more than 15 specialized webinars were held by the institute with the aim of transferring the research findings that can be promoted in the provinces. Dr. Khon Mirzaei, the deputy minister and the head of the Iran Fisheries Organization, stated: Localization of technical knowledge of algae culture, oyster farming, etc. are other activities carried out by the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute.
