Dr. Aghaei Moghaddam welcomed the guests and introduced the history of the Inland Waters Aquatic Stocks Research Center – Gorgan. He pointed to the effective and constructive activities of fisheries research in the province, especially in introducing vannamei shrimp to the Gomishan shrimp farming site and sturgeon farming. He provided explanations regarding the current and important activities of the research center such as introducing an alternative species for shrimp on the shrimp farming site and research on the reproduction of expensive and marketable imported species of ornamental fish in cooperation with the center for breeding and rearing of ornamental fish owned by Mr. Vakili and Mr. Shahriari. Dr. Aghaei Moghaddam pointed out the need to have the necessary infrastructure including staff and sufficient credit to conduct effective research to increase production and create employment in the province. In the end, Mr. Nowruzi evaluated the research activities in the province as effective and positive. While referring to aquaculture potentials, he emphasized the role of research in providing new technologies in increasing production efficiency and new employment opportunities in the fisheries sector. He said the necessary steps will be taken to attract provincial funding for the required infrastructure and membership in the Gulf Rescue Committee.
