The general manager of the Khuzestan Department of Fisheries and Mr. Bazdar, the general manager of the Bushehr Department of Fisheries, had a specialized meeting with Dr. Dashtian Nasab, the head of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran, the deputy director for the research and technology of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran and the officials of the fisheries research, education and extension departments and the president of the Fishermen’s Union. During his visit to Bushehr, Mr. Abu Ali, considering the similar fisheries capacities and challenges in these two neighboring provinces, emphasized on the two - way interaction between Department of Fisheries and the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran. He also visited the laboratories of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran and the Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) Shrimp Production Research Station. Dr. Dashtian Nasab welcomed the guests and spoke about the interaction and synergy of the research department and the executive department. Considering the problems of shrimp farming in the Chavibdeh Complex in Abadan County and the experiences of the research institute, he announced that the research institute promises to cooperate and play a role in the shrimp farming complex. Mr. Bazdar referred to some issues, including the existence of joint fishing areas and emphasized the importance of conserving resources, artificial habitats, aquaculture and cities for biotechnology ventures, the history of cooperation, and the joint cooperation between the two provinces. Mr. Abu Ali, referring to the capacity and diverse areas of fisheries in Khuzestan province, considered the coastal sector as the most important current focus of Khuzestan fisheries development. Given the challenges facing shrimp farming in Khuzestan, he suggested specialized cooperation in this area to revive shrimp farming and the sustainable development of the industry in the south of the country. He emphasized the need for regular thematic meetings. At the end, the head of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran introduced the research capacities and announced the readiness of the research institute to overcome the existing obstacles in the field of fisheries, revitalization and development of aquaculture activities in the two provinces.
