Dr. Bazargan, the deputy minister and head of the Agricultural Research Education and Extension Organization, Dr. Hagh Shenas, the governor of the Golestan Province, Dr. Mohajer, the head of the Organization of Agriculture - Jahad of the province, and accompanying delegation visited the fisheries research station in Qarah Su, Bandar Torkman. During this visit, Dr. Mohajer first discussed the role of fisheries research in the development of this industry in the province. Then, Dr. Aghaei Moghadam, the head of the Inland Waters Aquatic Stocks Research Center - Gorgan, welcomed the guests and described the 100 - year history of this station as the fisheries department, research station and research center. He pointed out to some of the effective research activities including the introduction of vannamei shrimp to the aquaculture industry in the province. Dr. Bazargan also explained the need for effective research activities on shrimp farming and aquaculture as well as their role in job creation and development of the province due to current - sensitive time, including oppressive sanctions and the role of resistance economy projects in reducing its impact. He asked questions that the experts answered while describing the ongoing projects. Dr. Hagh Shenas also mentioned the need to strengthen infrastructure and facilities for optimal research activities in the province due to the special position of the province in the northeast of the country. The ongoing projects of the center on the reproduction of expensive and marketable ornamental fish that were imported and the affordable fish feed for beluga juveniles were visited. In the end, Dr. Bazargan, while appreciating the efforts of research colleagues in the province, evaluated the performance of the center positively and provided explanations regarding the financing with the cooperation of the province. Dr. Hagh Shenas wished success and emphasized the continuation of effective research activities in the province.
