Two research patrols were conducted on July 8 and 18, 2020 by experts from the department of fisheries stock assessment for the in order to assess the population ecology of shrimp. The results of these two patrols showed that the highest rate of catch was in the Ameri to Motaf areas. Catch per unit effort was 8 kg per hour. The average length of shrimp was 11.6 and 11.7 cm. Accordingly, with the approach of sustainable fishing in the region, the opening date for shrimp season was suggested to the provincial fisheries committee. After presenting the report of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran at the meeting of the Bushehr Fisheries Committee, consisting of the members of the executive bodies and the representatives of capture fisheries organizations, the opening date for shrimp season for boats and launch boats was approved on 3 August and 5 August, respectively. In 2019 - 2020, about 1437 tons of shrimp were caught in the waters of Bushehr province from July 22 to September 3. The end of this year's fishery will be announced later and it is predicted that the amount of fishing this year will be around 1500 tons.
