The first joint meeting of the Research and Fisheries Committee was held in the meeting room in the presence of Mr. Modberi, the head of the Gilan Department of Fisheries, Dr. Shenavar Masuleh, the head of the International Sturgeon Research Institute, and deputy directors as well as the experts from three centers. The meeting was hosted by the National Inland Water Aquaculture Institute (Bandar-e Anzali). This committee was formed at the suggestion of Dr. Sayad Borani, the head of the research institute, in order to exchange views and strengthen the relationship between experts in the research and implementation sector, identify obstacles and problems of different fisheries sectors in the province, determine, follow up and implement effective policies to promote fisheries in the province. It was decided that the name of the committee should be changed to the Strategic Council for Fisheries Research and Development of Gilan Province. It was also decided that three representatives from the three centers should be appointed and the articles of association, specialized working groups, and job descriptions of the committee members should be prepared at the earliest opportunity.
