The training workshop with the title of "Practical feed management in shrimp farms" was held at the session hall of the Department of Fisheries via video conferencing in the presence of the head and experts of the Inland Waters Aquatic Stocks Research Center - Gorgan, the experts of the Department of Fisheries of the province, the experts of aquatic animal health and diseases, the experts at the Gomishan shrimp farming site and the person in charge of the agricultural extension office of the Veterinary Directorate General of the province as well as the expert in charge of the coordinating office for agricultural extension of the Organization of Agriculture - Jahad of the province. The instructor of the training workshop was Dr. Ali Ghavampour, the academic member of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran. Dr. Aghaei Moghadam, the head of the Inland Waters Aquatic Stocks Research Center - Gorgan, welcomed the audience and guests. He spoke about the comprehensive cooperation to improve shrimp farming in the presence of the white spot disease. Then, Dr. Ghavampour provided important points regarding practical feed management in shrimp farms, such as: Protein content in shrimp feed, management of the bed and harmful gas production, proper management of feeding, understanding the shrimp feeding method, daily shrimp growth monitoring and feeding management during shrimp farming. He reminded that the lack of proper management of feeding on farms can increase the incidence of diseases in shrimp ponds and significantly reduce shrimp production in this sector. Finally, experts and farm owners asked questions about lack of management during feeding, characteristics of proper feed, the rate of reduction or prevalence of white spot disease and other diseases with feed management, proper feeding in shrimp farms and factors affecting growth and conversion rate. The questions were answered by the course instructor.
