Visit to the private sector farms

Dr. Mahmoud Bahmani, the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, and the accompanying delegation visited the Gamma private sector farm, managed by Mr. Naemi, in order to evaluate the fisheries extension project related to the introduction of selectively bred Tata - Carp to the warmwater fish farms in Gilan province. During this visit, while holding a meeting and presenting a report on the stages and conditions of farming of this species in the above mentioned farm, the farm manager called for additional studies on Tata - Carp. He said that according to the results obtained so far, it can be said that Tata - Carp can be a suitable species to introduce and increase production in warmwater fish farms, especially in the climatic conditions of Gilan province. Dr. Bahmani pointed out to the goal of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute to improve production conditions for aquaculture in the country and to introduce new suitable species. The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute announced the readiness of the institute to implement joint projects with the active and interested private sector.
