Dr. Bahmani emphasized that environmental issues in tilapia farming should be considered and added: This can be fruitful when we can form a complex like enclosed greenhouse parks. Dr. Nikouei, the general manager of the office of economic development of the Agricultural Research Education and Extension Organization, pointed out that one of the issues raised by the minister of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad is the exploitation of unknown capacities. He suggested that the capacities of the existing greenhouses in the country be used in such a way that we consider them in the form of production clusters. Then, Dr. Hafezieh, the deputy director of research and technology of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, introduced aquaponics projects, the broodstock development of 5 new strains of tilapia and the biofloc system. He considered these technologies to be within the framework of scientific rules and guidelines that can be assigned to the private sector. To clear up the ambiguities related to tilapia as well as its consumption, Dr. Bahmani provided some explanations. The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute added: Although the omega - 6 level of this fish is low, it is not harmful to the consumer. During the meeting, it was decided to define 5 different clusters in 5 provinces and also to establish breeding, rearing and processing units separately. It is worth mentioning that before this meeting, two aquaponics projects and broodstock development of new strains of tilapia were unveiled at the National Research Centre of Saline - water Aquatics Bafgh (Yazd) in the presence of Dr. Bazargan, Dr. Khon Mirzaei, Dr. Bahmani and the accompanying delegation. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Sadeghi from the office of economic development of the Agricultural Research Education and Extension Organization, as well as Dr. Hossein Zadeh Sahafi and Dr. Ghaednia from the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute attended the meeting.
