Dr. Bahmani, the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, along with Dr. Hafezieh, the deputy director of research and technology, visited the aquatic products processing research department of the National Inland Water Aquaculture Institute (Bandar-e Anzali) on Tuesday, June 3, 2020. They closely examined all the details of the aquatic products processing pilot plant and related facilities and after receiving the reports and conducting the necessary discussions, they provided guidance on how to fully activate and exploit production line capacities. The interprovincial travel was aimed at accelerating industrial production as well as commercializing the research achievements of the aquatic products processing research department. The trip was made with the participation of the private sector. At the meeting, Dr. Bahmani emphasized the necessity and role of applied research for the aquatic products processing industry especially in the fisheries development programs in the country. He announced that the necessary funds have been provided for the repair and commissioning of the existing facilities and machinery. The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute stated: The institute aims to further prepare the conditions for the participation of owners and activists of the aquatic products processing industry. He also mentioned the invitation of knowledge - based companies to cooperate and implement creative ideas using the existing scientific capabilities as one of the priorities of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute in this field. At the end, it was decided that the operational plans and accurate expert estimates to achieve the above mentioned goals should be prepared and presented by the aquatic products processing research department as soon as possible.
