With the completion of the first phase of the national macro technology project of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) rainbow trout production, it was decided to start the second phase with the cooperation of the private sector. It was also decided to transfer the technical knowledge of the Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) rainbow trout production to the investors. For this purpose, the meeting was held on May 31, 2020, to explain how the parties should participate in the project. The coordination meeting was held with the presence of Dr. Bahmani, the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, Dr. Hafezieh, the deputy director of research and technology, Dr. Sepahdari, the project executor, Dr. Lashkari, the head of the Coldwater Fishes Research Center of Tonekabon, Dr. Fallah, the former governor of Mazandaran Province, and Mr. Saeidi as an investment applicant. During the meeting, the performance report of the first phase of the project and its national goals in order to provide quality product to meet part of the country's needs for eyed rainbow trout eggs were presented. Also, explanations on how the second phase will be implemented were provided by the project executor and the questions raised by the private sector were answered. Dr. Bahmani referred to the successes achieved in the first phase of the project and also the visit of Dr. Sattari, the vice president for science and technology, to the Coldwater Fishes Research Center of Tonekabon and said: Among the existing rainbow trout populations in the country, 8 populations were selected and after crossbreeding among them, 51 families were obtained. The resulting populations are in high - health and each has an identity card. The new population has a distinct genetic identity and can be recorded as seed or seedling cultivars. He added: The research activities related to this project have been carried out by the researchers of the institute at the Coldwater Fishes Research Center of Tonekabon. At the end of the project, its technical knowledge will be ready for transfer to the private sector. At the end, Mr. Saeidi, while appreciating the efforts of the researchers of the institute, announced his readiness to participate in the implementation of the second phase of the project and the establishment of the relevant industrial unit.
