The third meeting of the coldwater fish working group focused on rainbow trout selective breeding. The meeting was held at the session hall of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institutewith the presence of the Iran Fisheries Organization, the Iran Veterinary Organization and the representatives of the national union of the coldwater fish cooperatives and the central union of the coldwater fish agricultural cooperatives of the country, dated 17 February 2020. Dr. Hafezieh, the deputy director of research and technology of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, outlined the issues raised at the previous working group meeting and outlined the agenda for the meeting. Then, the status of the working group and how decisions should be implemented, were discussed. The participants of the meeting expressed their views and it was agreed that the drafting of the guidelines for the licensing of the selective breeding program for the website of the Engineering Organization should be presented and completed by the Iran Fisheries Organization at the next meeting. It was also decided that the scientific selective breeding program should be presented by the private sector.
