The joint meeting to explore common areas of educational - research cooperation with the Geographical Organization of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (with 95 years of experience) was held at the organization, dated 3 February 2020. Dr. Ghaednia (the deputy director of planning and support), Mr. Tavakol (the manager of administrative and support affairs) and Dr. Fereydoun Aoufi (the
director of studies in the ecology of the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea) attend the meeting on behalf of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute. At the meeting, which was attended by Sardar Enayati and a group of officials and experts of the organization, the capacities, equipment and human resources of the two organizations were introduced and presented. In the form of a joint memorandum, the issues for joint cooperation in the field of coastal and marine sciences and inland water resources including acquisition, processing, and interpreting aerial satellite imagesand terrestrial - marine - aerial data, providing comprehensive atlas and thematic production of GIS - RS maps and thematic production of small and large - scale 3D satellite and aerial maps, exchange of information and data base formation, hydrography and geography of the seabed, implementation of joint projects and participation in marine patrols and holding joint conferences and specialized training courses were agreed by both parties. At the end of the meeting, the board of representatives of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute visited the Persian Gulf Museum of the Geographical Organization.
