At the cooperation meeting with the Tohfe Company, Dr. Mahmoud Bahmani pointed to the capacities of the National Fish Processing Research Center – UNIDO and mentioned that the National Fish Processing Research Center has not only introduced many processed aquatic products so far, but has also transferred the technical knowledge of making the products to the private sector. The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute stated that the Tohfe Company is one of the largest fish processing companies in the country. Dr. Bahmani added: The Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute and the National Fish Processing Research Center – UNIDO with their specialized and technological capability, effective experience and international communications can present new research results in the form of continuous cooperation with the Tohfe Company and
pursue commercial product development. This cooperation is in the interest of the exploiter and the economy as well as the health of the nation's food. The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute continued: Overall, research needs to be able to solve some of the problems of the private sector, so that research makes sense and fulfills its mission. Dr. Bahmani stated: The Memorandum of Understanding with the Iran University of Medical Sciences and effective collaboration of referees of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute in its project (Hecton)in the fields of production of technological products in the fisheries, health, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries as well as modern processing of aquatic products is an opportunity that collaboration with the Tohfe Company can turn the results of these research into marketable products. He mentioned: The Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute intends to collaborate with the Iran University of Medical Sciences in the Hecton Project. The Hecton project is in the field of fisheries
sciences and the output of this project can be the production of various health and pharmaceutical as well as cosmetic products from raw materials extracted from aquatic organisms. At the end of the meeting, the draft of the cooperation agreement with the Tohfe Company was reviewed.
