The congress emphasized the importance of halal food to the health of the human body and mind. The observance of the recommendations in the Holy Quran which is also of interest to medical science was reaffirmed.Dr. Fariborz Shojaee, the senior advisor to the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran, also referred to the process of developing halal food standards in Iran and around the world and presented a report on the activities of the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research of Iran in this field. According to the chairman of the executive committee of the Halal Food Congress, 118 articles have been sent to the secretariat of the congress.Of the 118 articles submitted to the secretariat of the congress, 57 were selected by the jury, 42 presented as lectures and 15 as posters at the congress in two days.The paper of Dr. Kakolaki (Dr. Seyyed Jalil Zorrieh Zahra, Dr. Isa Sharif Pour and Dr. Seyyed Amir Ali Anwar) with the title of "Fish, Halal Food" was presented as a lecture and was recognized as the top paper of the First National Halal Food Congress and received the Medal of Honor and the Certificate of Appreciation.It is noteworthy that key articles of this congress have been published in the Journal of Comparative Pathobiology and also in the Congress book.The congress honored a number of pioneering professors of food science and engineering including Dr. Rokni, Dr. Misaghi, Dr. Akhund Zadeh, Dr. Motalebi, Dr. Ghavami, and others.At the end of the congress, the book "Halal Food", which has been translated into Persian by Dr. Seyyed Amir Ali Anwar, Dr. Maryam Ataei, Dr. Hamed Ahari and Dr. Anousheh Sharifian,has been unveiled.
