At the joint meeting of the managers of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute with the officials and experts of the department of fishing and capture fisheries of the Iran Fisheries Organization, Dr. Mahmoud Bahmani said: At the moment the most important issue is how to facilitate communication and information exchange between the two organizations. Because of the valuable results that research brings, capture fisheries and fishing equipment can be managed with greater knowledge. So far, there has been no problem in cooperation between the Iran Fisheries Organization and the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute but for better control of capture fisheries and protection of marine resources, it is necessary to increase this process of cooperation and to achieve the goals by relying on collective wisdom. At the meeting, Dr. Mohebbi, the deputy director of fishing and capture fisheries of the Iran Fisheries Organization, said: Research provides a complementary platform for the Iran Fisheries Organization to have more power to defend their positions and policies. Fortunately, with the approach of the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, we expect a new chapter of partnerships that will result in improved fishing and capture fisheries. Some of the key topics discussed at this meeting include strengthening and improving Iran's fisheries statistics system, attracting fishermen's participation in fisheries management, producing value - added fishery products, determining the fishery season and greater involvement of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute in capture fisheries management. It should be noted that Dr. Moradi, Dr. Hossein Zadeh and Dr. Mortezaei, the deputies of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, as well as Dr. Naderi, Dr. Shahi Far and Mr. Hosseini, the officials and experts of the department of fishing and capture fisheries of the Iran Fisheries Organization, attended the meeting.
