Training extension session on transferring scientific findings from research projects was held at the Sistan and Baluchestan Department of Fisheries with the presence of fishermen, exploiters and fisheries managers in Sistan and
Baluchestan Province. The meeting was attended by the general manager of the Sistan and Baluchestan Department of Fisheries, the deputy director of capture fisheries of the Sistan and Baluchestan Department of Fisheries, the head of the Chabahar Offshore Fisheries Research Center and colleagues from the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute and the deputy for fishing and ports affairs of the Iran Fisheries Organization as well as other beneficiary. The session was held at the Chabahar Department of Fisheries. The results of the following research projects were presented to fishermen and exploiters and the views of fishermen and fisheries managers on each topic and outcome were discussed and exchanged. The titles of research projects are as follows:
- The status of demersal resources
- The status of Panulirus homarus resources
- The status of tuna fish stocks
- Attract fishermen's participation in fisheries management
- Measures taken to increase the productivity of longline fishing in Iranian waters
The meeting was attended by the heads of fishing cooperatives from different counties and they actively participated in each of the topics.
