The joint meeting of the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, Dr. Bahmani, with the governor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Mr. Mohabati, was held with the presence of the deputy director of research and technology, the deputy director of fisheries and aquaculture extension and transfer of research findings and the manager of the office of the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute.Dr. Bahmani introduced the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute and the affiliated research institutes and research centers with the institute and outlined the goals, policies and effective programs of the institute in pursuit
of the resilient economy.He introduced stock assessment of aquatic organisms in the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea as one of the sovereignty tasks of the institute and added:The results and achievements of the aforementioned research patrols are used to enforce the law on the conservation and exploitation of aquatic resources of the Islamic Republic of Iran (as a mandatory law). According to the law, the High Commissions are required to determine the total allowable catch of fish stocks for each year based on the results obtained. Dr. Bahmani pointed out to the location of stations and the method of sampling from aquatic organisms in the research patrol to estimate the aquatic resources in the southern waters of the country. The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute emphasized the necessity of conducting this research each year in collaboration with the Iran Fisheries Organization and the relevant provincial Departments of Fisheries in order to use its achievements in sustainable development and continuity of fishing time and places for the exploiters. He
called for the assistance of the respected governor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province in conducting this year's research patrol. The governor of Sistan and Baluchestan Province received the project implementation documentation and pledged support for national and provincial cooperation for optimal implementation of the research patrol.
