The Golestan province shrimp alliance meeting was held at the office of the governor of the Golestan province with the presence of Dr. Hagh Shenas, the governor of the Golestan province, Dr. Noorgholi Pour, the representative of the West of Golestan Province, Dr. Khon Mirzaei, the deputy minister and the head of the Iran Fisheries Organization, along with the deputies of the organization, Dr. Bahmani, the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, along with the deputies of the institute, the head of the Fisheries Research Center of the province, Dr. Ghajari, the general manager of the office for health and management of aquatic diseases of the Iran Veterinary Organization, Dr. Mohajer, the head of the Organization of Agriculture- Jahad of the province, the general managers from the Department of Fisheries and the Veterinary Directorate General of Golestan Province, the head of the Chamber of Commerce, the manager of the Agricultural Insurance Fund of the province, investors and shrimp farm owners at the Gomishan shrimp farming
site. At this meeting, Dr. Ghajari first explained the prevalence of the disease and the organization's plans to provide health guidelines to farmers. Then, Mr. Mohtasham, the manager of the Agricultural Insurance Fund of the province, made a report on insurance coverage and tariffs for farms last year and a year ahead.Dr. Turkamani, the representative of the farmers, thanked the Golestan Department of Fisheries, the Veterinary Directorate General of the province and the Fisheries Research Center of the province for their support during the crisis and provided a report on production last year and this year. He estimated production losses this year at about 50 billion toman and demanded the governor to compensate these losses with the low - cost facilities and in particular through the province to encourage and accompany farmers, especially indigenous peoples who invested for the first year.Mr. Meigoli Nejad also provided detailed explanations on the current problems of investors in the reproduction and production of shrimp and made suggestions for
returning investors to business in the following year.Dr. Noorgholi Pour, the representative of the West of Golestan Province, also emphasized the role of investors in the development of shrimp industry in the province and promised to pursue demands and low - cost facilities. Then, Mr. Diani,
the manager of the industrial unit for the processing of aquatic products, presented a report of activity last year and this year and requested special assistance to the industry in the province. Dr. Bahmani, the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, explained about the plans of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute for holding workshops, providing instructions, shrimp farming in the presence of the disease and future research as well as collaborations on the development of a kit to diagnose the disease.Dr. Khon Mirzaei, the deputy minister and the head of the Iran Fisheries Organization, explained the importance of reducing disease damage by the organizations and the private sector collaborations and organizing activities alongside the disease. Dr. Khon Mirzaei called for a comprehensive report to better root out disease and compulsory insurance. At the end, Dr. Hagh Shenas, the governor of the Golestan province, thanked all the attendees and read 10 important points as an endorsement for the meeting including
the formation of a committee consisting of relevant organizations to prepare a plan for the future outlook for disease and disease prevention as well as follow-up on insurance coverage based on the report of the farmer’s representative, designing the following year's executive plan, providing compulsory farm insurance, providing low - interest facilities, providing a dedicated PL production site for the Gomishan shrimp farming site in the south, preparing biosecurity protocol, providing facilities with bank breathing space and stopping the second phase of the site by the end of next year.
