Valuable achievement and new theory of the Iranian researchers who are members of the Lancet Commission on Health and Climate Change, Dr. Mahnaz Rabbaniha and Dr. Fereydoon Oufi from the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute in collaboration with two academic members from the Agriculture Biotechnology Research Institute of Iran and the Iran University of Medical Sciences, on the consequences of climate change on the marine environment and fisheries food security was introduced as a new theory of Marine Primary Production Index in 2016 and endorsed by the international community. Dr. Mahnaz Rabbaniha attended the 2019 annual meeting at the invitation of the Lancet Commission on Health and Climate Change. While presenting the results of studies and researches and outlining the global model in the form of the 2019 report, she described the research proposal for the global monitoring of marine indicators for 2020 and the global monitoring program by 2030. At the meeting of the Lancet Commission on Health and Climate Change, 63 experts and researchers from 20 countries (including 24 research institutes and academic centers), who are members of the commission, examined 40 indicators in five specialized working groups. The index of "Marine Primary Production" was presented in Working Group I.It is worth noting that the articles on Climate Change Indicators on Health in 2017, 2018 and 2019 have been published in the Lancet (the third most prestigious global journal) with the impact factor of 59.
