To get acquainted with the research activities of the Persian Gulf Molluscs Research Station, Dr. Bahmani, the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, along with Dr. Seyed Mortezaei, the deputy director of
research and technology, and Dr. Hossein Zadeh, the deputy director of fisheries and aquaculture extension and transfer of research findings, visited the Persian Gulf Molluscs Research Station in Bandar Lengeh on Sunday, dated 11 August 2019. Initially, Mr. Rameshi explained the most important commercializable research achievements as well as the station's ongoing research activities to assess and rebuild aquatic resources. He stated: Most of the research that has been completed is in the field of reproduction and production of sea cucumbers, ornamental fish and Persian Gulf molluscs. Currently, also research projects are in progress at the Persian Gulf Molluscs Research Station with the title of "Introducing cobia to the aquaculture industry of the country through the import of fish fry and production of juvenile fish, breeders of fish and cobia brood fish in climatic conditions of Hormozgan province" and "Commercial production of edible oyster, Saccostrea cucullata in Hormozgan Province".
