On the second day of the trip, Dr. Mahmoud Bahmani, the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, along with Dr. Khon Mirzaei, the deputy minister and the head of the Iran Fisheries Organization, visited the Pazhohesh 1 Research Vessel. They emphasized bilateral partnership policy for sustainability and productivity of fisheries and research activities. At this meeting, Dr. Bahmani pointed to the capabilities and successes of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran among research centers and thanked the provincial support and partnerships. He said that we have a new chapter of collaboration between the executive sector and research sector. The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute added: The sustainable value chain of production and supply is important and he called for the support of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran for maintaining this cycle in the research and development sector. He also announced the plans for the SPF shrimp production, the capacity of this program at national and provincial level and assistance to the private sector. Vessel in assessing the reserves and conservation studies of fish resources in the Persian Gulf and called for the support of the province in its equipment and maintenance program. Dr. Khon Mirzaei stated: Due to the problem of marine natural resource limitation, development in the aquaculture sector is part of the strategy to prevent further damage to resources. He mentioned that reducing fishing pressure in offshore waters and paying attention to fish farming in cages are of the appropriate measures in this regard. The head of the Iran Fisheries Organization called for sustainability of production through timely equipping of sites and provision of farming infrastructure along with mechanization of methods. Mr. Gravand, the governor of Bushehr, expressed satisfaction with the shrimp development plans, especially in the aquaculture sector, and announced a serious commitment to complete the infrastructures of this sector. During this visit, Dr. Dashtian Nasab, the head of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran, introduced the possibilities and potentials of this
research vessel and discussed the requirements for its maintenance. Then, they visited the Jofreh fishing pier.
