The meeting was held with the presence of the head of the Inland Waters Aquatic Stocks Research Center – Gorgan, the shrimp experts from the center, the Department of Fisheries, the Iran Veterinary Organization, the deputy governor of Gomishan County and the shrimp farmers at the Gomishan shrimp farming site. Appropriate strategies to combat white spot syndrome and farm shrimp in the presence of white spot syndrome were discussed at the meeting. An expert from the Department of Fisheries of the province reported on the spread of white spot syndrome and the number of contaminated farms and ponds. A veterinary expert reported on the Iran Veterinary Organization's performance during the outbreak of white spot syndrome at the Gomishan shrimp farming site.Dr. Aghaei Moghaddam, the head of the Inland Waters Aquatic Stocks Research Center, also announced that the center is ready to invite researchers, shrimp specialists and experienced shrimp farmers and hold specialized and educational sessions on appropriate solutions for shrimp farming in the presence of white spot
syndrome.
