The head of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran noted that last year, the catch of shrimp was about 900 tons in the province and added: It is expected that this year's catch would increase to about 1,400 tons.Dr. Dashtian Nasab mentioned that the results of research patrols showed that more than 90 percent of the shrimp resources of the province belonged to Penaeus semisulcatus, which is one of the best types of the Persian Gulf shrimp, and the rest belonged to Metapenaeus affinis and other species.
