Dr.  Ghaffari and Dr. Jorfi visited the Persian Gulf National Center for the  Production of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) Shrimp.Mr. Yeganeh, the  head of the Persian Gulf National Center for the Production of Specific  Pathogen Free (SPF) Shrimp, described the research activities and projects  carried out at the center.A meeting was held with the presence of Dr. Dashtian  Nasab, the head of the Shrimp Research Institute of Iran, and the executors of  the projects for the production of specific pathogen free shrimp and shrimp  broodstock and the shrimp selective breeding project.At the meeting,  it was decided that the national document for selective breeding of farmed shrimp  should be drafted in a booklet and its requirements should be mentioned in  order to be able to proceed on this basis and on the other hand, based on the  document presented and existing facilities, the executive proposal for 2019-2020  should be developed. The proposal should be followed up promptly, so that the  proposal can be implemented after approval by the Iranian Fisheries Science and  Research Institute.During  the visit and meeting, Dr. Ghavampour, the executor of the shrimp selective  breeding project for the production of specific pathogen free shrimp, presented  a comprehensive description of the shrimp selective breeding project.The Persian Gulf  National Center for the Production of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) Shrimp has  been set up in the country in order to obtain the knowledge of the production  of specific pathogen free shrimp and to establish the research pilot for the  permanent monitoring of the production of the SPF shrimp.
