In order to visit the aquaculture farms affected by flooding and investigate the damage to farms in the villages of Dikcheh and Yasirgachan from the suburbs of Gonbad-e Kavus, Dr. Hafezieh, the head of the department of reproduction and production of aquatic organisms of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, Mr. Hagh Panah, the expert on the fisheries and aquaculture extension of the Inland Waters Aquatic Stocks Research Center - Gorgan and Mr. Soleimani, the representative of the Gonbad-e Kavus Department of Fisheries went to the region. Eight farms were visited. Most farmers said that the flood was due to lack of proper management before the flood. In the recent flood, the walls of the most warmwater fish farms in Gonbad-e Kavus have been damaged and the wall between the ponds has been broken or completely destroyed. After the flood, about 60 cm of sludge was found on the floor of the ponds and no fish were found inside the ponds. Approximately 70% of the warmwater fish of this region have been lost. There are weed fishes in the detention basins and ponds. The ability to resume warmwater fish farming in Gonbad-e Kavus has faced serious constraints due to the lack of liquidity and lack of juvenile fish in the province.
