The first meeting and specialized algae exhibition was held with the presence of Dr. Ghanei, the secretary of the Biotechnology Development Council of the Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology of the Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in Ibn Sina Hall of the Persian Gulf University. Experts from the aquaculture department of the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea Ecological Research Institute also participated in the exhibition and presented their relevant research to the public. Dr. Ghanei described the roadmap priorities and added: In the first stage, given the appropriate lands for aquaculture on the coast of Persian Gulf and Makran, aquatic nutrition with algae should be expanded so that aquatics are produced at lower cost and higher quality and the feed supply problem, which is one of the main issues of the farmers, is resolved. He continued: In the second stage, the use of algae in the food industry, that we are the importer in this field and we import the product such as agar, will be discuss.
