In order to implement the rainbow trout selective breeding project, the one-day training course with the title of "Rainbow trout selective breeding; formation of base population" was held at the session hall of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute with the participation of expert colleagues from the Shahid Motahari Genetics and Breeding Research Center of Coldwater Fish –Yasuj. In the training course, the stages and conditions necessary for the selection and transfer of the populations intended for the formation of the base population at the breeding center were presented. In another part of the meeting, discussions were held about the populations at the Shahid Motahari Genetics and Breeding Research Center of Coldwater Fish –Yasuj and their competence was evaluated in terms of the standard indices in the base population. At the end of the training course, the experts were fully informed about the implementation process for the formation of the base population and generalities of the rainbow trout selective breeding project.
