Fish with the average weight of over 50 g were introduced in two treatments in March 2019 to ponds of about 0.2 hectare of the Martyr Sanati Training Center of the Sistan and Baluchestan Department of Fisheries in Gwadar. The possibility of fish farming was investigated in cooperation with the deputy for reproduction and production of aquatic organisms of the Department of Fisheries of the province. The management of nutrition and investigation of physical and chemical characteristics of water were carried out. Fish reached the average weight of 170 grams within 40 days. This fifty-fifty project has been implemented in partnership with the Department of Fisheries of the province, whose goal is to develop and promote the Asian sea bass farming in the earthen ponds of coastal areas of the country. Following the success of the Asian sea bass farming in marine cages, the results of this project indicated the success of the Asian sea bass farming and the remarkable growth and survival of this fish in the earthen ponds. In the next step, the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute will culture the Asian sea bass at densities of over 10 kg per cubic meter in concrete ponds that can create national and productive changes in the marine fish farming industry.
