Following the significant drop in the catch of Astacus leptodactylus in the Aras Dam Lake in 2018-2019, the joint meeting was held with the fisheries and aquatic resources management authorities of West Azerbaijan Province and the Iranian Artemia Research Center in order to conserve the resources and forecast the production of Astacus leptodactylus in the Aras Dam Lake. During this meeting, the implementation of the research project on monitoring the resources of Astacus leptodactylus in the Aras Dam Lake in 2019-2020, which is the responsibility of the center and announced by the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, as well as its operational process with the participation of the fisheries and aquatic resources management were studied. It was decided that the necessary credit should be followed by the Organization of Agriculture- Jahad of the province and its implementation should be carried out as soon as possible, at least 3 times before the start of the fishery season, in order to make the decision based on the information obtained for the issuance or non-issuance of the license and the amount of fishing permits.
