The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute has considered research as one of the main roads in the production boom, especially in the various fields of fisheries sciences. Dr. Mohammad Pourkazemi in an interview with Radio Goftegoo said that the production boom would be based on scientific principles and its sustainability in the various fields of fisheries sciences, and added: Research in fisheries sciences is based on two criteria; aquaculture and fishery. He mentioned: Carrying out selective breeding research activities and introducing fast-growing strains, increasing the production efficiency and introducing new species and new research areas such as algae, aquatic plants, edible shellfish and sea cucumber, which have been neglected, are the priorities of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute which will have an effective role in the macroeconomics of aquatic organisms. The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute on the subject of fishery said: Currently, a large number of fishermen operate in the form of cooperatives in the north and south, whose sustainability and fishing methods are dependent on the results of stock assessment of aquatic organisms and research projects that have been performed by the Iranian fisheries science researchers and they are the researchers who play a decisive role in conserving and rebuilding aquatic resources by determining the amount of aquatic resources and these researches will lead to sustainability in the coming years. Dr. Pourkazemi added: Considering the existing aquatic resources in the seas, it seems that the maximum amount of production in the territorial waters will not increase significantly in the current year, but in the program that the Iran Fisheries Organization has provided for the production horizon, fishing and fishery in offshore waters and international waters are considered, which if executed, the share of this subsection will increase significantly in the production boom. He continued: In addition, optimal management in the research section can reduce waste in various parts such as transportation, storage and refrigerating systems which reaches about 20-30%. Therefore, reducing these wastes will increase the income of the fishermen and producers. Moreover, the identification of new aquatic resources such as the existing resources at depths of over 300 meters in the Oman Sea that has not yet been taken into account is on the agenda of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute which can have a significant impact on increasing the share of fishery in the production boom. Dr. Pourkazemi believes that the launch of the ecotourism industry along with the conventional fishing from the seas can help sustain the income of the fishing community and open up new horizons on the job creation path to the natives of the coastal areas. At the end, the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute emphasized that the institute has a history of 100 years and has 11 research institutes and research centers, and mentioned: Using the scientific capacity available in the Ministry of Agricultural Jahad, the universities, the private sector especially the knowledge-based companies, and through effective communication with the international assemblies such as the FAO, the Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands and the Research Institute for Fisheries, Aquaculture and Irrigation in Hungary (HAKI) that we are currently implementing projects jointly, we will all work together and help the institute to achieve its goals. Of course, before the start of the New Year, several meetings were held with the respectable heads of the affiliated research institutes and research centers, and programs for each center were individually designed and were announced. It is hoped that all of these programs will be implemented by the end of the year.
