Today,the last meeting of the board of directors of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute was held on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the session hall of the institute. During the ceremony, 23 managers of the headquarters were appreciated. The efforts of the active members of the general and specialized Basij Foundation as well as 9 colleagues from the headquarters of the institute, who will retire in the New Year, were appreciated. At the meeting, Dr. Mohammad Pourkazemi thanked and appreciated the efforts of all colleagues especially the experts, scholars and managers from the farthest research stations to the research institutes and affiliated centers, and said: It is hoped that due to the planning performed, the significant breakthroughs in 2019 - 2020 are even faster and more effective than in 2018 – 2019, since the main goal of the activities of the institute is to implement program-oriented and targeted projects with an effective approach to production, resource conservation and increased productivity of exploiters. The director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute added: The beginning of selective breeding activities of fish and shrimp, the transfer of a number of rainbow trout brooderfish from the research center of Tonekabon to the research center of Yasuj, stock assessment and ecological monitoring, the definitive approval of the 3 research institutes, activities related to the cultivation of algae, holding 4 conferences with the efforts of the affiliated research institutes, technical and specialized meetings with the private sector and unions, obtaining the license from the Department of Environment for tilapia farming in 4 provinces of the country, reconstruction and modernization of the Gilan ship, obtaining the rank for English and Persian journals and celebrating the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the institute were of the most important actions undertaken by the efforts of the researchers and scholars of the institute and affiliated research institutes and research centers in 2018 – 2019. Following on, managers and retirees have also expressed their opinions and thanked the director of the institute for his endless efforts.
