The scientific speech titled "Feasibility of Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA)" was held in the meeting room by Dr. Samira Nazem Roaya, the academic member of the South of Iran Aquaculture Research Center, for the purpose of familiarizing the experts with this method and examining the possibility of its initial implementation in wastewater of sugarcane farms in Khuzestan province with the support of the Water and Power Authority. The scientific speech was held in the presence of the experts of this organization, the Khuzestan Department of Fisheries, the academic member of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz and the researchers of the South of Iran Aquaculture Research Center. At the seminar, the generalities of the pilot project including how it works, where it is carried out and most importantly the types of target species that can be farmed together were raised. Considering that the selection of fish, plants and molluscs as the main components of this method in the presented project depends on the ease of obtaining juvenile fish, molluscs, a specific plant with similar living conditions and the ability to tolerate various salinity levels and also on the basis of the Department of Environment licenses, four scenarios were raised by the lecturer which were discussed at the meeting. There were some great suggestions at the meeting that should be considered in the proposed proposal to the Water and Power Authority.
