The
total number of 60 high-health rainbow trout broodfish (each has an identity
card) as one of the knowledge based products derived from the implementation of
first phase of the national macro technology project of "The mass
production of Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) rainbow trout" were transferred
after obtaining health approval and shipping health certificate from the Iran
Veterinary Organization. The transfer of rainbow trout broodstock was carried
out on the basis of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Iranian Fisheries
Science and Research Institute and the
Ghezel
Kosar Fish Farming Company (the selected farm of the Iran Veterinary
Organization and the Iran Fisheries Organization for the macro
project) with the aim of increasing the productivity and sustainable
development of the rainbow trout production and reproduction industry,
conservation of genetic resources and selective breeding activities of rainbow
trout in the country as well as supporting this domestic knowledge base
product. Rainbow trout broodfish were transferred from the Coldwater Fishes Research Center of Tonekabon
to the Halu Kaleh village in Do Hezar Rural
District, Tonekabon County. These high health fish were introduced to
the rainbow trout broodstock ponds of the
Ghezel
Kosar Fish Farming Company.
