The meeting was held to present the achievements of the institute in reducing shrimp red head phenomenon with the presence of Mr. Saeedi, the adviser to the minister of agriculture jahad, Mr. Keshavarz, the deputy director of agriculture affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture Jahad, Dr. Pourkazemi, the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, Dr. Hossein Zadeh, the deputy director of fisheries and aquaculture extension of the institute, Dr. Khodaei, the chairman of the Iran Fisheries Production and Trading Union, Mr. Madani, the general manager of shrimp office of the Iran Fisheries Organization and a number of experts and representatives of the private sector and shrimp farmers union. The meeting hosted by the head of the National Center for Strategic Agricultural Studies, the head of the department of water of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, the advisor to the minister for agriculture jahad and Mr. Shariat Madar. At the meeting, the latest achievements of the institute in reducing shrimp red head phenomenon were presented by the director of the institute and the executors of the fisheries and aquaculture extension projects (prevention and control of the red head phenomenon in farmed shrimp) in two provinces of Bushehr and Hormozgan presented their reports on the results and achievements of the fisheries and aquaculture extension projects and research. After discussion, Mr. Shariat Madar expressed satisfaction and appreciation for the activities performed by the institute and stated that it is necessary for the Iran Fisheries Production and Trading Union to clearly and precisely announce their explicit request from the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture and other related organizations including the Iran Fisheries Organization, the deputy directorate of livestock affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture Jahad, the Iran Veterinary Organization and the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute to be considered at another meeting. At the end of the meeting, the report of two completed fisheries and aquaculture extension projects on the shrimp red head phenomenon and related promotional items (posters, brochures and educational and promotional films) was presented to the managers and exploiters.
