The specialized and thinking meeting on stock assessment and management of the Caspian Sea bony fishes (past, present and future) was held in the meeting room of the Caspian Sea Ecology Research Center with the participation of representatives of the fishing community of Pareh-Cooperatives in Mazandaran Province and Dr. Taghavi, the head of the department of biology and stock assessment of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, dated 31 December 2018. He explained the necessity of observing the indicators of continuous exploitation management and emphasized the need for participation of the fishing community as the main exploiters of aquatics resources. Dr. Fazli and Mr. Daryanabard provided important explanations on the status of bony fish stocks over the past 27 years, the present status of bony fish stocks, the annual catch limit, sample collection, as well as the effects of rebuilding bony fish stocks especially the Caspian kutum stocks on capture fisheries and the influence of environmental parameters on the new generation of fish stocks. At the end, the representatives of the Pareh-Cooperatives actively engaged in discussions and demanded that such meetings be held at least once every three months in the province.
