The National Conference on Indigenous Fish Conservation in Iranian Inland Water Ecosystems was held with the presence of professors and students on the importance of conservation of Iranian indigenous fish at the University of Tehran, Karaj. Dr. Salehi, the director of the Iran Fisheries Organization, and Dr. Pourkazemi, the director of the Iranian Fisheries Science and Research Institute, delivered extensive speeches on the conservation and importance of species of indigenous fish in the country. Dr. Igdery, the executive chairman of the conference, focused on the papers presented at the conference and the importance of the need for such conferences, and eventually the conference continued with the implementation of three panels on non-indigenous fish, biodiversity and conservation strategies. It is worth mentioning that Dr. Keivan Abbasi and Dr. Seyed Mohammad Salavatian as the representative of the National Inland Water Aquaculture Institute presented the papers in a lecture entitled "Study on the problems of immigration and natural reproduction of migratory fish in the Anzali wetland basin", and a poster entitled "Investigating the diet of Hemiculter leucisculus introduced to Kardeh Dam Lake in Mashhad". Other colleagues of the institute participated at the conference by presenting 14 posters.
