The first sampling phase for the project of ecological monitoring of the Caspian Sea at depths 5 and 10 of the coastline of the southern Caspian Sea began on October 31, 2018 at the transect of Amirabad which was in line with the priority program of the Caspian Sea Ecology Research Center for the second six months of 2018-2019. Sampling of biological parameters (phytoplankton, zooplankton, comb jelly and macrobenthos), non-biological parameters of water (physical and chemical parameters) and pollutants (petroleum pollution, metallic elements, chlorine chemicals and detergent) was performed. Sampling operations will be carried out on 8 transects including Bandar Torkaman, Amirabad, Babolsar, Noshahr, Tonekabon, Sefid Rud, Anzali and Astara.
