The department was established as reference laboratories in 2005 and changed to Standardization and quality control of laboratories in recent years
Responsibilities
The department has responsibility for oversight for all the laboratories’ activities at IFRO, including, but are not limited to the following:
1) Trying to enhance the quality of all the activities of the institute laboratories based on the national and international standards
2) Standardization and updating existing analytical methods based on the relevant national and international guidelines and protocols (with regard to the available equipment and facilities, the research priorities and ….)
3) Establishment of a comprehensive database for all the affiliated laboratories contains information on all the equipment, facilities and chemicals
4) Supervision on all the activities of the institute laboratories.
5) Establishment/ improvement of scientific communication with relevant national and international institutions in order to upgrade the quality of laboratories’ performance
6) Promotion of health and safety in all the laboratories of the institute
7) Expert supervision over the purchase of the laboratory equipment
